Look past the answer.
An articulate response can still be wrong. Learning should make model limitations visible and give people practical ways to check what they receive.
The future starts with a conversation.
Hey AI Foundation Learning · Writing · Student-led exploration
Hey AI Foundation brings practical learning, writing, and student-led exploration together — helping people question AI, test its answers, and make decisions they can stand behind.
Knowing how to ask an AI for help is only a beginning. The harder questions are how to recognise an unreliable answer, decide what good work looks like, and know when to disagree. Our approach connects clear explanations with experiences that let people test these questions for themselves.
Our student-led initiative02 / The foundation
Hey AI Foundation grew alongside a practical question: how can people use increasingly capable AI without handing over their own judgment?
Our early work connects the ideas and activities in Hey AI, Let’s Talk! with support for student-led learning. The foundation helped the AI Youth Alliance develop and distribute its programming, providing resources and institutional support while giving students room to lead.
An articulate response can still be wrong. Learning should make model limitations visible and give people practical ways to check what they receive.
Whether a piece of writing is good or an explanation holds up cannot be decided by the model alone. Set a standard, test the result, and decide when to revise or reject it.
Practical projects turn abstract ideas into choices with consequences. The process matters: what was attempted, what failed, and why the next decision was made.
Where the work began
Hey AI, Let’s Talk! began as a collaboration between Ryan Ng and Frank Ng. Frank developed the conceptual explanations; Ryan developed examples, case studies, and activities. Discussion, experimentation, and revision connected the two — an approach that carried into the student-led work the foundation supports.
In practice / AI Youth Alliance
The AI Youth Alliance operates under Hey AI Foundation. It brings students together to investigate AI through hands-on challenges and projects, supported by faculty mentors and school communities.
The foundation supplies support and room to experiment; students take ownership of the work. Explore the alliance’s programs, chapter information, and student projects on the AIYA website.

A mental model to stay relevant when intelligence is abundant
An exploration of the human work AI cannot take over: setting purpose, testing what it produces, and taking responsibility for the choices that follow.
Chinese-language columns for families, educators, and curious readers on how AI changes learning, work, and the responsibility people still carry.
English essays on AI’s capabilities and limits, and on the human work of setting standards, checking outputs, and owning consequences.
Our early work has grown through collaboration between students, families, educators, and institutions. Mentors and school partners make space for experimentation, offer guidance, and help turn an idea into something people can use.
